Yui Yokoyama (横山由依, Yokoyama Yui; born December 8, 1992 in Kyoto) is a Japanese singer, actor and member of the Japanese idol group AKB48 and NMB48. She debuted in 2010 in Team K and now is in Team A.[1] She is part of the senbatsu, having been voted #19 and #15 in the AKB48 3rd and 4th senbatsu elections. Since 2011, Yokoyama is also a member of the group Not Yet.[2][3][4]
Biography
Born in Kyoto, Japan, Yokoyama failed SKE48's 2nd generation auditions but passed AKB48's 6th round of auditions for the 9th generation Research Students on September 20, 2009. Yokoyama was the first 9th generation Research Student to be promoted at AKB48 Tokyo Matsuri on October 10, 2010.
Yokoyama was ranked for the first time in AKB48's 3rd Senbatsu Sousenkyo as #19, and gained a place in the senbatsu for "Flying Get". In the 4th Senbatsu Sousenkyo, Yokoyama increased her ranking to #15.
In the AKB48 Tokyo Dome Concert, it was announced that Yokoyama would join NMB48 and therefore hold a concurrent position between AKB48's Team A and NMB48. In November, Yokoyama was a senbatsu member for NMB48's 6th single "Kitagawa Kenji".
Yokoyama ranked #3 in AKB48's 3rd Janken Taikai.
