The Monument to the People's Heroes (人民英雄纪念碑) is a national monument of China. The monument was build from August 1952 to May 1958 and is located to the north of Mao Zedong's mausoleum on the southern edge of Beijing's Tiananmen Square. On it are written several quotations by Mao.
