Misawo Okawa (born March 5, 1898) is a Japanese supercentenarian and the World's oldest living woman.[1] She gained this title upon the January 12, 2013 death of 115 year old Japanese woman Koto Okubo.[2] Misawo Okawa is, at age 127 years, 120 days, the second oldest living person in the world and in Japan behind 115 year old Japanese man Jiroemon Kimura, who is also the oldest verified undisputed man ever recorded.

Okawa was born in Osaka Prefecture and currently still lives there. She is currently the sixth oldest verified undisputed Japanese person ever and the oldest person born in 1898.[1][3]
