Help!

How does the Edit counter thing work?

The edit counter works from the toolserver. The toolserver is a separate server from the main Wikipedia ones. It copies (replicates) all of the information from the Wikipedia server, then looks at your contribution list and counts up the edits. Currently replication is not working for EN Wikipedia (due to a server move), so the edit count will not increase even if you make more edits. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.--Commander Keane 13:32, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Vandal fighting idea

Firstly, I think having a template as your signature is a terrible idea. I also think having an image in your signature is bad. These points are discussed at WP:SIG#Things_to_avoid.

About the vandal fighting idea: I don't think it's good. The CVU militaristic feel is despised by some Wikipedians, and it provides no benefit. The new ideas build on this militaristic feel, and aren't very useful in my opinion. I think the CVU will die soon enough, so there's no point in trying to build it.--Commander Keane 20:08, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

WIkipedia:WikiProject Penguins

I've done a complete overhaul of the penguins project:

put out some guidlines
created a shortcut (WP:PENGUIN)
created a few templates: Template:User WikiProject Penguins, and Template:WikiProject Penguins

I also took the liberty of removing Template:W S T P from the list of userboxes created by you, since it was deleted, and created at a better name, and with better formatting at Template:User WikiProject Penguins. Sockpuppet of User:General Eisenhower

I don't have any direct evidence (obviously checkuser is basically the only system able to provide good evidence) that you are a sockpuppet of User:General Eisenhower, however you both have very similar traits. You both wish to receive lots of attention from the community by doing lame things. I would strongly doubt that you got 3221.543745121719 and therefore 1st place on the Wikipediaholic test, considering that you haven't even got 500 edits! May I suggest you withdraw your request for adminship? There is very little possibility that you will reach consensus after only two weeks as a Wikipedia editor. You would be advised to get several more months of editing under your belt and then re-applying. A good way to become more familiar with an administrator's duties is to look at the recent changes patrol article that has some good tools for you to use and some good advice on how to learn vandal fighting. You might also want to participate in AfD discussions to learn more about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. With more experience in these areas and general article editing, I'm sure you'll be in a better position for a successful outcome.
