Dima Bilan (Cyrillic: Дима Билан) is a Russian pop artist. He was born on December 21, 1981. Dima is about to release his third full-length album as a professional artist.

Triumph on MTV

On September 21, 2005, Dima Bilan won two awards at the prestigious MTV Russian Music Awards. He won both the Best Performer and the Best Actor of the year awards. A few weeks later he was one of five nominees for the Best Russian Act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2005 [1] held in Lisbon, Portugal.

Representing Russia at Eurovision

In the middle of March, 2006, Dima Bilan was chosen internally by the Russian broadcaster Channel One to have the honour of representing Russia at the biggest musical contest in the world, the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 to be held in Athens, Greece. Dima took second place with the pop song Never Let You Go. Due to Russia's bad result last year, Dima was forced to qualify for the final at the semi final on May 18. He qualified in the top ten there and moved directly to the final on May 20. Dima Bilan's performance included a piano on stage.
