Eurovision Song Contest 2007
The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 is the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest that will take place from May 10 to May 12, 2007 in Finland. The location of the contest was decided on May 20, 2006 when the Finnish rock band Lordi won the 2006 contest in Athens, Greece. The likely location of the contest will be Finland's capital Helsinki, although this has not yet been confirmed.
The popular contest website esctoday.com has stated that the qualification system will stay the same as in 2006, with fourteen countries (2006's top ten and the highest-paying four EBU members) automatically qualifying for the final, and ten others qualifying from the semi-final. The maximum number of countries who can enter the contest will remain at 40, although this will most likely not be reached.

- New Countries for 2007:
In April 2006, Česká Televize announced that the Czech Republic would be entering the contest in 2007. This will therefore be their contest debut, despite the country being eligible for a long time. The reason for their not entering in previous years has been declared by the broadcaster as being down to financial difficulties. No countries have yet withdrawn from the contest, although the Netherlands' annoyance at their semi-final elimination may mean that they decide to withdraw for 2007[citation needed].
