The 2013 NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Tournament currently involves 64 schools playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division II college basketball as a culmination of the 2012–13 basketball season.

Qualification and tournament format

The champions of the 22 basketball conferences qualify automatically. An additional 42 teams are selected as at-large participants by the selection committee. The first three rounds of the tournament are organized in regions comprising eight participants in groups of two or three conferences (two in the Central and Midwest regions). The eight regional winners will then meet at the Elite Eight for the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds to be held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. The championship game, as part of the festivities surrounding the 75th anniversary of the NCAA tournament, will be played at Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on April 7, 2013.
