Charles I (1364 - January 25 1431) was Duke of Lorraine from 1390 to his death. From his marriage to Margaret, palatine countess, only two daughters survived childhood: Catherine (1407-1439), married to Jacob I, Margrave of Baden and Isabella of Lorraine (1400-1453), who became Duchess in his death.
