Semey (Russian Семипала́тинск/Semipalatinsk) is a city in Eastern Kazakhstan.

Semey was the location of the Semipalatinsk Test Site where between 1949 and 1989, 456 nuclear tests, including 340 underground and 116 atmospheric tests were conducted.

Semey is a university city with about 300 000 inhabitants.
