Vicent franch
Vicent Franch i Ferrer (Borriana, 1949) is a Valencian jurist, politologist and writer.
Professional career
He is Senior Professor of Constitutional Law and Political and Administration Science at the University of Valencia. He was appointed judge for the Administration Courtroom of the Superior Court of the Valencian Community from 1990 since 1995.
He has been Director of the Electoral Documentation Centre of the Valencian Community. Some years ago he was appointed Director of the books collection ‘Estudi General-Textos Valencians' of the Alfons el Magnànim Institution of the Council of València. The aim of this collection is to recover the most important Valencian contributions to the social debate and thought since Arnau de Vilanova until now. During different stages he has been Director of the Department of Constitutional Law and Political and Administration Science of the University of Valencia. At present he is Director of the magazine Tractat de l'Aigua (Valencian Interdisciplinary Review about Water).[1]
During the Spanish Transition he was first President and later Síndic Major of the Agrupació Borrianenca de Cultura (Culture Association of Burriana). He has been also major of the small village of Aín, in the province of Castelló, from 1999 until 2003.[2]
Along the years Vicent Franch has also taken part in several debates [3], colloquia and conferences[4]. He has also taken part in many courses and seminars.
Works
Law
Vicent Franch is author of roughly a dozen books and of nearly one hundred articles, which deal with Valencian political history, local Spanish Law, linguistic rights and Political Theory and Practice. He has written several studies and reports about the present problems of the Valencian regional government, and he is the author of a lengthy report about the change of the electoral system of the Spanish Senate, which was requested by the Spanish Senate itself in 1997.
Together with other university professors he wrote the Morella Statute (1979). Upon this document the different versions and proposals of Authonomy Statute for the Valencian region were made during the Spanish Transition. He has supervised and published several works about polls and political behaviour of Valencians. He is the author of a set of proposals for the reform of the Valencian Statute of Autonomy in (2005), and also about linguistic rights.

Literature
As a fiction writer -one of his most beloved hobbies-, he has published several fiction books. The following ones can be pointed out:

He was Director of El Conte del Diumenge (Prometeo Publishing House) during its last period (the first 80s of the former century). From time to time he has done literary reviews.[7]
Journalism
He is press columnist since 1976 and he has written articles in a lot of newspapers and magazines:
- Castellón Diario, Mediterráneo and Levante de Castelló, among the ones of Castelló.
- Las Provincias, Diario de Valencia, Notícias al Día, Levante-EMV, Hoja del Lunes and El Temps, among the ones of Valencia.
- Outside the Valencian area he has published articles in ABC, Diario de Mallorca, Avui, Deia, La Vanguardia, and from 1995 until 2008 he was regular columnist in El País.
At present hi is preparing the publication of a collection of books of his entire journalist work.[8].
