Jack Perez is an American film and television director, screenwriter, and film professor. Perez is perhaps best known for directing the acclaimed 2011 comedy-thriller, Some Guy Who KIlls People, executive produced by John Landis; and 2009's pop culture phenomenon, Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus, whose trailer went viral and was named by Yahoo as one of the top 10 trailers of 2009.

Other films include the cult film, America's Deadliest Home Video (1991), one of the first "found-footage" movies; La Cucaracha, Wild Things 2 (2004), and the Ray Harryhausen-inspired monster-comedy, Monster Island (2004) for MTV. Perez is also a television director and has directed the pilot for Xena: Warrior Princess as well as writing and directing the online video game, Polar Bear Payback for AdultSwim.
