Robert Lees (aka J. E. Selby) (19132004) was a Hollywood screenwriter, famous for writing comedy, including several Abbott and Costello films. Lees' was well-regarded in the 1940s and 1950s, but his career was virtually destroyed when he was blacklisted during the McCarthy Era for alleged Communist activities. Lees was attacked at the age of 91, allegedly by a homeless man, and decapitated in his home.
