The Paw Paw (Asimina Triloba) is a North American tree with several unusual, cherished characteristics:

  • large oval drooping leaves
  • evergreen
  • large clusters of fruit

The fruit has a creamy, banana or custard like flavor, and unlike most fruits, it contains protein.

Hardy to minus 20 degrees Farenheit, a single tree can supply more than thirty pounds of fruit per year.

Chilled Paw Paw fruit was the favorite dessert of George Washington. The Paw Paw provided nutrition to Native American people and the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
