"Love Is Lost"
Song

"Love is Lost" is a song by English rock musician David Bowie, the fifth single from his 24th studio album The Next Day Extra.

Release details

The single release is based on a remix by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem.[1]

Bowie debuted the video at the Mercury Prize ceremony on 30 October 2013, where The Next Day was on the list for Album of the Year.[1]

Video

Bowie wrote, directed and shot the video himself for a cost of $12.99, the cost of the flash drive he had to buy to save the video on his camera.[1] Bowie recorded the entire video in 72 hours[2] the weekend before in his apartment in Manhattan.[3]

Bowie's assistant Jimmy King and long-time personal assistance Corinne "Coco" Schwab assisted with the video.[2]
