Halle (Saale)

Halle is a city in Germany in the Bundesland of Saxony-Anhalt.
Before 1989 it was part of East Germany, and was the capital of the Bezirk Halle. In 1994, Halle had a population of 195,370.
The famous Baroque music composer Georg Friedrich Händel was born in Halle.
The University of Wittenberg was founded in the city 1502.
