David Jason started his career at the same time as Michael Palin in At Last the 1948 Show. He then went on to play Blanco in Porridge starring Ronnie Barker and Granville in Open All Hours, also starring Ronnie Barker. This led to his most popular role, that of Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses, a so-called wide-boy who sells knocked-off (i.e. stolen) goods assisted by his brother (played by Nicholas Lyndhurst) and Grandad (played by Lennard Pearce) and Uncle Albert, played by Buster Merryfield. He also provides the voice of Dangermouse and does several other cartoon voice-overs.
