Mockumentary
Appearance
A mockumentary is a fiction film presented in the style of a documentary film. They are usually comedic, and often parodic in nature.

- Best in Show, story of some contestants at a national dog show
- The Blair Witch Project, mockumentary of a vanished film crew
- Bob Roberts a Tim Robbins satiric film about a right wing folksingers' crooked election campaign.
- Forgotten Silver by Costa Botes and Peter Jackson, the story of of "lost" New Zealand filmmaker Colin McKenzie and his "films" and "technological achievements". Complete with "recovered" archival footage, "premier screening" and "critical praise" from industry notables, this one had the local industry fooled until the directors explained they were "only joking".
- The Last Broadcast, a mockumentary of a vanished film crew
- Man Bites Dog, black comedy/satire in which a film crew follows a serial killer documenting his crimes
- The Rutles parody telling of the Beatles story
- Spinal Tap, mockumentary of a rockumentary
- Waiting for Guffman, story of a small Missouri town's celebration of its sisquecentennial
- Zelig Woody Allen movie telling of a chameleon-like individual who blended in wherever he went.
