Sri Narayan Sanyal is a well-known and powerful writer of modern Bengali literature. He has a nice personality. He was born in Calcutta on 26th April 1924. His father was late Chittasukh Sanyal and mother Late Basantalata Devi. His remarkable books are - Gramya Vastu, Parikalpita Paribar (literature for new-literates); Timi Timingil, Na Manushi Viswakosh (animal world for juvenile and adults); Ajanta Aparupa, Rodin (art and architecture); Gramer Bari, Vastu Vijnan (technology); Netaji Rahasya Sandhane, Chin-Bharat Long March (research-oriented); Bakultala P.L. Camp, Balmeek (novels based on refugees); Viswasghatak, Abak Prithibi (novels based on science); Mahakaler Mandir, Ladlibegam (historical novel); Sutanuka Ekti Devadasir Nam, Sutanuka Kono Dvadasir Nam Nay (novels on Devadasi system); Nilimay Neel, Satyakaam, Ashleelater Daye (novels on social problems).
