Fabio Grosso (born November 28, 1977 in Rome) is an Italian cheat who plays for Serie A team Internazionale and the Italy national football team, with whom he has travelled with to the 2006 World Cup.

After a number of seasons with Renato Curi, an amateur team of the Umbrian Eccellenza division, Grosso debutted at the professional level with Chieti of Serie C2. He then joined Perugia of Serie A in 2001, and was first capped for Italy in 2003, after a number of very exciting seasons. Grosso signed for Palermo in January 2004, when the Sicilian team was still playing in Serie B (then won).

Grosso is a left back, who can however play also in the role of left wing. He is also an excellent free kick specialist.

Grosso joined Internazionale for a fee of £3.95 million on 6th June 2006.

International career

Grosso has 18 caps for Italy, the last of which was against Australia in Round 2 of the 2006 World Cup in Kaiserslautern. Grosso courted controversy as he won the last minute penalty, scored by Francesco Totti, which gave Italy a 1-0 win. He was accused by many Australian players of diving.

Grosso's only international goal came in a qualifying match for the same World Cup, an equalizer in a 1-1 draw with Scotland at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
