Greetings.
I am a student in college studying ancient and classical languages, history, and archaeology. I have a particular interest in things which very few others know. My particular interests of note at the moment are early Greek and Roman history, Sumerian archaeology and archatecture, Egyptian history and Hieroglyphics (Mek su, djedi medju en Kemet) My Egyptian bones to pick:
- The chronology of the New Kingdom begins high but ends low. Amenhotep II and Thutmoses IV could stand to see 10 years added to each of their traditional reigns
- The Exodus occured under Amenhotep II and Joseph served under (at least) Senwosret II and III.
- The Coregency is doggy poo. We've bought what Akhenaten was selling- the idea that "Nebmaatre" (note never called by his "amon" containing name") was on board with Akhenaten's little "let's kill the annoying Amon priesthood off" scheme.
- Anyone disagreeing with Kitchen on the third intermediate period had better tread very, very cautiously. Not because to do so is against some dogmatic idea, but because most people that have done so have proven themselves idiots.
My greek exegetical bones to pick:
- Houtos in Jn. 3:16 clearly is and has always been an adjective of manner, not magnitude. "so" with any other verb means "in this way" ("so let it be written, so let it be done").
- Anedia autou in Lk 11 means "shamefulness of [the deed]"
