Yaakov Turner

Yaacov Turner (born 1935 in Kefar Yona) has been the mayor of Beersheva since 1998. He enlisted to Israel Defense Forces in 1953 and left in 1985 as a Brigadier-General). In the Yom Kippur War he was a F-4 Phantom II pilot, and in the Six-Day War and the War of Attrition, he was the commander of an air combat squadron. After his military service, he was enlisted into the Israeli police.
