Maney
Maney is an area of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England. It is situated near the town centre of Sutton Coldfield and is also near Wylde Green and Walmley. The Birmingham Road runs through Maney, and Maney Hill Road is a main feature. On the Birmingham Road there is an Odeon cinema which has been around for many years and is very popular with the public. On Maney Hill Road there is a church called St. Peters Church and the Beeches Walk is nearby with shops and restaurants. Maney is also home to 'The Smithy' - an extremely old building dating back to around the sixteenth century and now used as an art gallery. Maney is also the location of one of the cottages built by Bishop John Vesey in the 1500s. Maney has an intriguing history, in the 2nd World War a bomb exploded in the middle of Maney Hill Road. And in St. Peters Church Hall The Beatles played a concert on the 1 February 1963.
Nearby is the home of the local football team, Sutton Coldfield Town F.C.. The schools Maney Hill Primary School and Plantsbrook School are situated in Maney as is the Sutton Art College.
