Armin Jordan

Armin Jordan (born 9 April 1932 in Lucerne) is a Swiss conductor. He directed many ensembles in Switzerland before becoming principal conductor of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in 1985, a position he held until 1997. He became less active after suffering from pneumonia during a performance of Wagner's Ring cycle at the Metropolitan Opera in 2001.

He is the father of conductor Philippe Jordan.
