Reich - the German word for "empire". Often used by right-wing extremists in Germany to describe their country, probably to evocate the regime of Adolf Hitler, that his movement called Das Dritte Reich, ('The Third Reich') (1933-1945). The First and Second Reich's were the Holy Roman Empire (mid 10th century-1806) and the empire headed by Kaiser Wilhelm and Wilhelm II (1871-1918).
