The Jacksonville, Florida, Metropolitan Statistical Area, known colloquially as the Greater Jacksonville Metropolitan, consists of Duval County (Jacksonville and the "independent" cities of Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Baldwin and Neptune Beach), Clay County, St. Johns County, Nassau County and Baker County. The total estimated population is over 1.5 million residents[1] (2004 US Census estimate). Jacksonville International Airport is 13 miles north of downtown Jacksonville. It serves more than 10 million passengers annually.
