A comedy troupe formed in England in the late 1960s which rose to international fame with its hit television series Monty Python's Flying Circus.

The entire group was British except for Gilliam.

After 'Flying Circus' ceased production in 1974, the group began making full-length motion pictures. These include:

Each member pursued other film and television projects, often working with one another. Many of these were very successful, such as A Fish Called Wanda (1988), starring Cleese and Palin.

Graham Chapman died in 1989 of cancer.
