Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for starring as "Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana" on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.

Biography

Early life

Cyrus was born in Franklin, Tennessee. She is a Christian and the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and has two brothers, Trace and Braison, and two sisters, Noah and Brandi. Her nickname, Miley, was started by her father because she wouldn't stop smiling when she was little. Billy would call her "Smiley", but then it got shortened to Miley.

Career

Cyrus became interested in acting while on the set of her father's television series Doc. In 2003, she played young Ruthie on Tim Burton's Big Fish credited as Destiny Cyrus.

On June 22 2006, Cyrus performed a Hannah Montana concert at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. She will be traveling with the Cheetah Girls on a 40 city tour.

On October 3, 2006, Walt Disney Records will release the Hannah Montana soundtrack to the Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana. The soundtrack will most likely include the songs listed below, with some other songs by other stars. Cyrus has also signed on for a record deal for four albums at Hollywood Records.
