Hoedown
Song in the style of American folk or country music, as performed on the show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. With the assistance of either Richard Vranch or Laura Hall on the piano, each contestant forms one of the four stanzas of the hoedown. The only requirement is that that the second and fourth verses of each stanza must rhyme, and that each stanza must be pretinent to the audience-selected subject of the hoedown (although Ryan Stiles has wavered from this rule in the past). Hoedowns have provided some of the show's most memorable moments, such as Colin Mochrie's penchant for fainting when he couldn't deliver a rhyme, and Stiles' propensity for squeezing the word "penis" into a rhyme in the show's latter days. Some of the best hoedown artists include Mochrie (ironic, after his earlier struggles), Wayne Brady, Chip Esten, and, surprisingly, Drew Carey.
