Dennis Gentry

Dennis Louis Gentry (born February 10, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas) was an American football running back/wide receiver for the Chicago Bears. He played his entire eleven year career in Chicago. He attended Baylor University.

Gentry won a championship ring with the Bears in the 1985 season when they defeated the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX. Gentry caught 2 passes for 41 yards in the game, including a 27-yard reception at the Patriots 1-yard line that set up a rushing touchdown. In the following 1986 season, he led the NFL in yards per kickoff return average(28.8).

Gentry finished his 11 NFL seasons with 171 receptions for 2,076 yards, along with 764 rushing yards. He also returned 192 kickoffs for 4,353 yards, gained 136 yards on 17 punt returns, and scored 15 touchdowns(5 rushing, 7 receiving, 3 kickoff returns).
