Elahiyeh is a district in northern Tehran.

This district is home to the club houses of the Russian, Turkish, German, Swiss, and Danish embassies.

Perhaps the most famous part of the area is the southern part, around Shahid Fayyazi Avenue (once called Fereshteh Avenue) where the flashiest buildings and many fashionable locales are. Iran's only Gucci billboard is located in this district, as well as numerous high-end shops and businesses.

Before Shemiran was officially incorporated into the city of Tehran, the area, like many others in North Tehran, consisted of extensive and expansive residences and gardens, used as summer homes for Tehran's upper crust of aristocrats, diplomats, and other wealthy people.

Most of the land in this district once belonged to Mrs.Fakhr ol dowleh, daughter of Mozaffareldin Shah Qajar, known during her time to be the richest lady in the country.

Elahiyeh continues to be where some of Iran's most affluent classes live. Many tall, gleaming high-rises have recently been built there. Being north of the city, Elahiyeh has a suitable climate all year round, and sees abundant snowfall most every year.

Mahmoud Hessaby's house is in Elahiyeh on Hessaby Street.
