Vu!
VU! PPV is an English and French language pay-per-view and Near Video on Demand provider that launched in October 1999 and is owned by Bell Globemedia. VU! is the largest PPV service in Canada and available exclusively on Bell Expressvu. It is a unique service in that it not only offers pay-per-view content but also features pay-per-day, pay-per-month and pay-per-year on select programming.
Channels and content
VU! PPV consists of 50 standard definition channels and 6 High Definition channels. It features both English and French language content as well as foreign programming. The current lineup is broken down as follows:
- 31 English language standard definition PPV channels & 4 HD PPV channels
- 17 French language standard definition PPV channels & 2 HD PPV channels
- 2 distinct PPV channels for children's programming- kidsVu!
- 1 subscription PPV channel featuring Portuguese Superliga Soccer matches
- 1 subscription PPV channel featuring exclusive Cricket events
Programming on VU! includes hit movies, concerts, live boxing, UFC, WWE and TNA wrestling, World Series of Poker and other special events. In addition, Vu! airs select programming from HD Net.
Vu! PPV also offers various sports packages including NHL Center Ice, NFL Sunday Ticket, NASCAR In Car, NCAA basketball and HPItv Horse racing.
In an effort to compete with the Video on demand services offered by cable companies, Vu! has launched All Day Vu!. It allows the viewer to purchase a movie for a 24hr time period until 6am the next day. They are allowed to view it as often as they wish until the time period expires.
Venus
Venus is Bell Expressvu's adult pay-per-view service. It is treated as a seperate service from Vu! and features the best in adult entertainment. Venus is currently comprised of 10 PPV channels.
