Sea lavender blossoms in august-september

The Zwin is a 175 ha natural reserve, founded in 1953. 150 ha is situated at the eastern Belgian coast in Knokke-Heist, and 25 Ha more at the other side of the border on Dutch territory.

It is famous for its large variety in salt-resistent flora, such as Sea lavender. Also ornithologist come along to watch birds. There is a small kind of zoo with some major domestic birds and it is one of the few places in Belgium with a population of white storks.
