Wesley Bolin

Wesley Bolin (July 1, 1909March 4, 1978) served as governor of the U.S. state of Arizona between 1977 and 1978.

He succeeded to the governorship after Raul Hector Castro was appointed as Ambassador to Argentina by President Jimmy Carter. . Bolin was Secretary of State for Arizona from 1949 until the resignation of his predecessor.

He died in office at the age of 68 in 1978 and was succeeded by Bruce Babbitt. The Wesley Bolin Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona was named after him.
