A narrowest width of 4cm is given. That seems rather high. A quick survey of the (IRL) people around put a more reasonable average at somewhere between 2cm and 2.5cm. Was the width across the back of the ankle intended, or from the back of the heel to the bit facing the front of the foot (which can't be measured without some knifework)? If the latter, perhaps this should be made a bit more clear. --Fvw 01:00, May 31, 2004 (UTC)

Why does Achilles' Heel redirect here instead of to Achilles' heel, which would seem to make more sense since the only difference between the two is the capitalisation of one letter? Ben davison 18:22, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Severing the tendon

What exactly does severing the Achilles tendon do? I think that should be explained.
