Light beer, also known as Lite beer, is a beer with, generally, less alcohol and fewer carbohydrates than regular beer, and, therefore, it contains fewer calories.

Light beers are often criticized by beer connoisseurs for their lack of flavor/taste and for being "watered down". However, people looking for fewer calories and carbohydrates, and less alcohol, in a beer often prefer light beer. Popular light beers in the United States include Bud Light, Miller Lite, and Coors Lite.
