British Hill Climb Championship
Appearance
The British Hillclimb Championship is the most prestigious championship in British hillclimbing. The first climb of the inaugural series was staged near Linlithgow, Scotland on 17 May 1947, and the championship has been held every year since that time. However, the 2001 season was severely disrupted by the foot and mouth crisis that year, which caused the postponement or cancellation of some rounds of the series.
All British Hillclimb Champions have been from the British Isles. The most successful driver in terms of individual victories is Roy Lane, with 90, whereas Tony Marsh holds the record for the most championships: six.
