If we could get a link to where it was stated Shredder wouldn't be in it that would be great - not saying it's false, it will just be good to have.

The problem with that, is that it was not mentioned in an online interview or something of that matter, but in the letters page of the TMNT comic book (I forget which issue, but it's a very recent one). The S 03:26, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh okay. Thanks for the heads up. Tigermave 03:39, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Soundtrack?

Can anybody provide a reputable link that can prove the info about the soundtrack? I've tried searching for it but I can't find it anywhere. ONEder Boy 04:28, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As of now there has not been release of a soundtrack as of yet. As the movie is still in production and won't be released until spring of next year. If there is going to be a soundtrack, we won't know until winter of 2006 or spring of 2007. Since the movie is being produced through Warner Bros., chances are the soundtrack will be released through them. [Edit by Halfshell]

This movie's rating

This film is gonna be rated PG? That's stupid, all the modern day super hero films are rated PG-13. Batmain Begins, Spiderman, The Fantastic Four, the X-Men ect. The only reason the original TMNT films were rated PG was because in the costumes the actors that play the Turtles don't have alot of mobility, so the fighting sequences, while still awesome, aren't extremely intense. But with CGI characters this movie can totally kick ass, easily making it have a PG-13 rating. I will be fairly disappointed if it isn't intense enough to earn a PG-13 rating.

Ah, you make a point there.
WRONG! Family-related CGI films do not get PG-13 ratings! It's too late because it has a PG rating.
No, this film isn't going to be released until next year. The rating could still change.
The news calls it "PG-rated", but if the rating could still change and I don't want this film to be rated PG-13, maybe it could be rated G instead because it's now animated.
Also, isn't "ass" profanity and don't you hate profanity?!

"IV"?

The article says the movie's tentative title is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV. As much as I'd love for the francise to continue the numeration after the previous three movies, I have not yet heard the movie been referred to with "IV". Anyone have a source for the "IV"? --Brandon Dilbeck 00:12, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the "IV", is to reflect a tenative numbering, the movie IS set in the same canon as the first two movies but the third holds the numbering this movie would likly hold. It would have been much easier if the film had a "Superman Returns"-style title to avoid all of this confusion. Dr. R.K.Z 2 June 2006

Edit

I edited the bit about the villains. It's definitely a bogus. Basically, Mirage Studios doesn't own the rights to the old cartoon. All the characters who weren't in the comics and in the old cartoon (Bebop, Rocksteady, Dimension X, Krang, Technodrome etc) don't belong to Mirage Studios, they belong to the studio that did the old cartoon. And there is no sign of the that studio being involved in the movie. Plus, about the soundtrack, that was also probably a bogus. I can't see them announcing the WHOLE soundtrack at this stage. Plus, in my opinion, the artists all suck (except U2) and don't sound very turtle-y. I mean, can you really picture the turtles kicking ass to Green Day?

Also, about the Shredder not being in the movie. I'll be honest with you, there is no specific source that says he won't be in it. BUT. The movie incorporates aspects of the first movie (the end of which Shredder was killed). So it is assumed that he is still dead, and he didn't come back from the dead in the second movie.

Lets recap here: "Mirage Studios doesn't own the rights to the old cartoon. All the characters who weren't in the comics and in the old cartoon (Bebop, Rocksteady, Dimension X, Krang, Technodrome etc) don't belong to Mirage Studios, they belong to the studio that did the old cartoon"

First of all, statement is false. Mirage Studios owns copyright to all character names. Fred Wolfe Productions own the production and Editing rights to the show not the characters.

[Edited By Halfshell]

They don't own the rights to the characters which appeared in the old cartoon and not the comics, hence why Bebop and Rocksteady and Dimension X and all that crap doesnt' appear in the new cartoon, which is what I was trying to say.

Woah what's all this about the soundtrack?! Marco Beltrami or whatever he's called. Does that mean we're having no shi**y pop music, and having a proper musical score?

Article Moved???

Should this article have been moved without discussion or citation? All the press and production information indicates that actual film will be called TMNT, not the full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Can we get a citation for the name change? ThuranX 15:59, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
