Comment: There appears to be a misunderstanding of the applicable notability guidelines for swimmers and athletes in general. In the absence of a specific notability guideline for athletes in a particular sport, an athlete may still demonstrate notability under the general notability guidelines per WP:GNG, with significant coverage in multiple, independent, reliable sources. Indeed, although WP:SWIMMING has discussed the adoption of an SNG for swimmers from time to time, at present it continues to rely on a combination of WP:NOLYMPICS and WP:GNG for swimmer notability. I suggest you review whether the coverage of Nuala Moore in mainstream publications is significant. I just reviewed one feature article about the subject in The Irish Times, linked in the draft article footnotes, which clearly passes the threshold of significance. There appear to be several others, keeping in mind that multiple articles in the Times still count as a single source for purposes of establishing notability. (FYI, I was drawn to this discussion by the message left on the WikiProject Swimming talk page, and I regularly participate in AfD discussion for athletes and sports-related topics.) Comment: Please review WP:Notability (athletes) for benchmarks that swimmers must meet to be considered valid article topics. MatthewVanitas (talk) 11:43, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Nuala Moore is an Irish swimmer known for open water swimming and ice swimming.
In 2006, she was one of 6 swimmers to swim around the coast of Ireland in a relay.[1][2], the first-ever swim of over 1300km around the coast.[3] Then in 2008 she did a double crossing of the English Channel.[4]
She was the 2011 awardee of the Margaret Smith Award of the Irish Long Distance Swimming Association, given for increasing the profile of open water swimming.[5] She won several medals in the first-ever World Ice Swimming Championship (2013, Murmansk, Russia).[6][7][8]
In 2013, Moore swam the Bering Strait in a relay[9][10][11] As part of that swim, she was one of only four women to "[complete] a 1000km swim at 0 degrees in Murmansk north of the Artic Circle"[12]. In total, only seven women have swum a kilometer at 0 degrees Celsius at the Arctic Circle.[1] After her Bering Strait swim, she was nominated for World Open Water Swimming Woman of the Year in 2013 [13] and chosen as one of the "People of the Year" by Irish adventure magazine Outsider.[14]
In 2015 she competed in the first Ice Swimming World Championships in Russia.[15] Also in 2015 she won an age group record for swimming 1000 meters in below-5 degree Celsius water.[16][17]
She was featured in a Science Gallery exhibit in 2014 on fat.[18][19]
