Jani Lane
Jani Lane is best known for his role as the lead singer in American hair metal band Warrant.
Lane was born as John Patrick Oswald on 1 February 1964 in Akron, Ohio. Lane was the youngest of five children. Lane was interested in music from an early age and began playing drums at age 6. He is rumoured to have won a grade-school talent contest playing "Honky Tonk Women" on the drums.
Warrant was formed in Los Angeles, California, by guitarist Erik Turner in July 1984. Lane joined the band in September 1986. As lead vocalist with Warrant, Lane wrote 5 Top 40 hits: "Heaven", "Down Boys", "Sometimes She Cries", "Cherry Pie", and "I Saw Red".
Lane became involved in acting in the early 1990s. He made a brief appearance in Caged Fear, and also appeared in High Strung in 1991, starring Jim Carrey.
Lane released his debut solo album "Back Down to One" on June 17, 2003 through Z Records. Lane left Warrant in early 2004 to further pursue a solo career.
Lane has two daughters: Madison Michelle Lane, with second and current wife Rowanne Brewer, born in November 1997, and Taylor Jayne Lane, born in January 1992, with first wife Bobbie Brown.
