The District Of Canterbury Credit Union is a savings and loans organization for residents and workers in the District Of Canterbury local authority area.

The objectives of the Credit Union are to provide its members with free financial education, offer low-rate loans and encourage thrift.

Credit unions are particularly useful for people who have been denied savings accounts and reasonable-rate loans elsewhere.

Unlike traditional financial institutions, such as high street banks, credit unions value customer service over profits. This is because there are no outside shareholders. Credit unions are owned and controlled by the member who use their services.

There are branches of District Of Canterbury Credit Union in Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable.
