Unfulfilled historical predictions by Christians

This page seeks to record events that were prophesied by prophets or leaders within the Christian church, but which never came to pass.

In this case, prophecies are meant to be specific and measurable. An example of this is William Branham's prophecy that all Christian denominations will be controlled by the World Council of Churches by 1977.

Prophecy that is direct from the Bible is not included on this page. Problems with Biblical prophecy are dealt with in separate articles.

"Christian Prophet" here refers to anyone who has prophesied about the future within the visible Christian church (Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox), even where they were considered heretical at the time or later. New Religious Movements that have their original basis in the Christian church are also included here.
