Nonie Darwish
Nonie Darwish is a freelance writer for the online journal, FrontPageMag.com, edited by David Horowitz. A convert to Christianity, she says she is the daughter of a non-Palestinian "shahid" (martyr) killed by Israeli forces in retaliation for organizing Palestinian resistance from an unnamed Arab country.
Darwish blames "the Middle Eastern Islamic culture" for her father's death and to avenge it, she has adopted a mission to "expose Moslem culture and Islamic fundamentalists." Darwish says she was raised in an atmosphere of hatred for Israelis and Jews but after attending Catholic high school, emigrating to the United States and receiving United States citizenship, she now says she wants to promote reconciliation, acceptance and understanding between Israelis and Arabs.
Her website Arabs for Israel describes itself as an organization of Arabs and Moslems who respect and support the State of Israel, welcome a peaceful and diverse Middle East, reject suicide/homicide terrorism as a form of Jihad, and promote constructive self-criticism and reform in the Arab/Moslem world.
