James Marsters, as the Buffyverse character Spike.

James Marsters (born August 20, 1962) is an actor, best known for playing the popular character Spike, a vampire, in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Buffy-spinoff Angel.

He has made guest appearances on the television series Northern Exposure and Andromeda.

Until very recently, he was the frontman of the little known rock band, Ghost of the Robot, taking James back to his roots of music, their debut album "Mad Brilliant" was released on February 2, 2003. After much careful consideration, James left the band, blaming his ever growing work commitments in both film and televison, for the split. Thankfully for fans of the group, the other four members, Charlie DeMars, Steven Sellers, Aaron Anderson and Kevin McPherson, have vowed to carry on, under the new name of "Gods Of The Radio" and work on the self titled album is well under way.
