Tao Yin (導引, pinyin dǎoyǐn) exercises were an ancient precursor of ch'i kung, specifically practised in Chinese Taoist monasteries for health and spiritual cultivation, attested from at least 500 BC. it is also said to be (along with Shaolin Ch'uan) a primary ingredient in the martial art known as T'ai Chi Ch'uan.
Tao Yin is still reputedly taught as a style of ch'i kung.
