Diamond Head is a name of a british metal band like Scorpions, U.F.O., Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden. They were founded in 1976 in Stourbridge, England.

In 1977, Sean Harris joined the band and then Diamond Head's career began and then the first demo tape was cut in 1978 in a studio in Kidderminster. This was used to get gigs, and a copy was sent to Geoff Barton at Sounds, who was suitably impressed and put them on his play list, and arranged an interview. Continual gigging set them in good stead. Diamond Head saw them opening for the likes of AC/DC and Iron Maiden.

By 1979, they made contact with Happy Face Records for their first album called Lightning to the Nations and began recording it in Autumn of 1979 and released it in 1980 of songs about history of evil, suicide, death and politics.

Diamond Head released their second album called Borrowed Time in 1982 and Canterbury in 1983.

In 1998, Metallica covered a song called "Am I Evil?" originally released by Diamond Head with their 2-disc set, Garage Inc.
