The Associated Students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks or ASUAF is the representative group for the students attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Each student enrolled in three or more credit-hours pays a $35 fee to the Association to represent them to the University Administration, the State of Alaska Legislature, and any other bodies and organizations that, directly or otherwise, have impacts on students' lives.

The ASUAF Student Government consists of two branches; the Legislative and the Executive. The Executive branch is composed of a President and Vice President, elected by the student body on the same ticket each spring for one year terms, and directors which are hired as a part of the president's cabinet. Currently, the directors include Organizing, responsible for holding major ASUAF events; Government Relations, responsible for relations between ASUAF and local, state, and federal governments; Tanana Valley Campus relations, responsible for coordinating actions of ASUAF with the students of the Tanana Valley Campus; recycling, which coordinates the ASUAF recycling program; and Information Services, which is responsible for managing ASUAF's computer-related services.

The Legislative branch is composed of twenty Senators, ten elected in each of the fall and spring semesters by the student body, for one year terms. At the first Senate meeting of each academic year, the present Senators elect a Senate Chair to preside over all future meetings. The Senate has the final say in all actions of ASUAF, because while the President can veto Senatorial actions, the Senate can override the veto.

Student media

ASUAF is also the funding source for UAF's student-run media, the Sun Star newspaper and the KSUA radio station. Both of these organizations are funded by a percentage of the $35 student fee collected by the Association, and are managed wholly by students at UAF.

Other associations

ASUAF is affiliated with the other student associations of the University of Alaska system, including the Union of Students of the University of Alaska Anchorage and the Union of Students of the University of Alaska Southeast.
