Hi, Lindsey8417, Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello, bonjour, salut, privyet, konichiwa, shalom, hola, salve, sala'am, bonjourno, and hi! I'm Sputnik. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". We're glad to have you in our community! I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful. If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you. Here are a few links to get you started:
And remember:
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
  • P.S. I'm happy to help new users. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Happy Wiki-ing!

Nice To Meet You!

It sure is nice to meet someone else that takes interests in the Resident Evil games and movies, Welcome!!! Empty2005 10:37, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Up The Good Work!

Your edits are pretty good, keep up with the good work :D Empty2005 07:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

asia argento

why not try to improve/add something instead or just deleting the trivia section on asia argento ? Unixer 09:41, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

you wrote it yourself on the edit comment: (edit + rv trivia). Please do not revert or remove relevant information without a valid reason.

Jovovich

Is there any way that we can have some other picture in the header of the article? It's just that that picture (in my opinion) doesn't really represent the best she's looked... JackO'Lantern 06:41, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Baby Template

The Baby template is redundant to the topic and not needed. If anything, I might try creating a template for all the characters but until then just leave it alone for now. Thanks.--CyberGhostface 02:10, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

Hi, I happened to notice your edit on The Hills Have Eyes (2006 film); you wrote reverted "wrong edits". The edits by User:86.141.136.42 do count as vandalism, so if you see edits like that, feel free to drop a vandalism warning template on that user's talk page; see Wikipedia:Vandalism. Elrith 11:22, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, I realized what you did, and it was right. I just noticed that no-one had put a vandalism warning on the vandal user's talk page, so I thought I'd let you know what the procedure is. The same guy had also vandalized other movie entries, and it never hurts to put a vandalism warning on their page so they can be blocked if they keep it up. Elrith 12:17, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Simply stopping by to say: "Hi"

Thanks for editing a bit of that annoyingly compiled Other Movies Shown on Sci Fi.. Keep up the plusgood work!DrWho42 23:36, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saying hello

Just attempted to explain my entry in the Toolbox Murders article, which you had a question about. Checked out your profile and was happy to see a female so into horror. They're few and far between! =) I briefly worked in movies (some horror included) but currently manage a haunted house attraction in New Jersey. I also act in the attraction. You can check out the attraction's website here if you're interested. Stop by if you're ever in NJ. JohnBWatt

English varieties

Advice: English dialects on Wikipedia: Wikipedia has millions of readers; some use American English, or British English, or International English, or any of numerous other local forms from Australian English to Canadian English. Because of this, Wikipedia has a policy of respecting articles written in whatever form of English the original author of the article used.

The guidelines are simple. For subjects exclusively related to Australia (for example, an Australian film), use Australian English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. If it is an international topic, use whatever form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, just ask anyone on Wikipedia and they will help you. Enjoy your time on the internet's fastest growing encyclopædia (or encyclopedia, if you write it that way!). Thank you.

Hi Lindsey. The golden rule for which variety of English to use in a particular article is consistency. Wolf Creek (film) is not only an Australian topic, but it was and is primarily written in Australian English. Thus, subsequent edits are expected to conform with this variety. It might have helped if I was clear from the beginning. Happy editing, --cj | talk 06:31, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:557079757 l.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:557079757 l.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page to provide the necessary information on the source or licensing of this image (if you have any), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Image name

I noticed you've uploaded Image:557079757 l.jpg and I thought I should turn your attention to a common error.
Please give uploaded images meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the image is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the image itself. Thanks, and good editing! Stifle (talk) 22:49, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I noticed your name on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Horror membership list and am writing to all members who have not voted for the Collaboration of the month. Today is the designated selection day to choose the collaboration, but we currently have a tie between the two articles receiving the most votes, John Carpenter and Dario Argento. I am hoping to remedy this by drumming up a few more votes. Note that by voting for any nominated article (not limited to these two) you are indicating your "commitment to support and aid in collaborating on that specific article if it is chosen," so please feel absolutely free to ignore this message if for any reason you don't wish or would not be able to participate.--Fuhghettaboutit 22:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Baby and Otis Backstories

I noticed that the Otis section was just a copy and paste from his official bio, so I removed it. The same with Baby (although I'm not sure that was cut and paste). If you modify it to your own words, then it can be posted. Thanks.--CyberGhostface 19:47, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Milla Jovovich

Hi. I noticed that you added a Vogue magazine cover to the Milla Jovovich article. I think it only fair to warn you that Wikipedia has gotten very strict on the use of magazine covers of late and an administrator is likely to delete the image pretty quickly unless something is added to the article specifically addressing that issue. I guess under Wikipedia's fair use rules, magazine covers can only be used in articles specifically referencing the cover -- as in the magazine itself, not the subject of the cover. I've been seeing magazine images removed by the dozens -- even including fashion model articles. I've protested and at least one editor has quit the project completely in response. Hopefully you can add something to the article that'll give the scan a reason for being there under fair use. 23skidoo 23:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The text should be the reason for the image being there. Not the oposite. --Abu Badali 21:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Majandra52_jpg_jpg.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Majandra52_jpg_jpg.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:24, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Hillshaveeyes1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hillshaveeyes1.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:14, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
