  • This is genuinely bizarre. For the first time ever, we seem to have a vandal bot entry made by a registered user! Entry is/was Cambodian New Year. Total content: "Cambodian new Year" (quotes mine) with no period, just like virtually every other similar vandal bot hit. Entry has no previous history, BTW. I just checked. - Lucky 6.9 01:28, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Comment: Just heard from this person who apologized for posting the article. I have a feeling that the content was not what this individual intended to leave. I'm now worried that a new and rather malicious bot is now posting nonsense through legitimate user pages. - Lucky 6.9 01:42, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Repeated vandalism. Has been blocked. Is now DoSing the Sandbox by filling it with >700 KB of crap every other edit. Doesn't seem to process English. This is scaring away the well-meaning newbies. JRM 20:13, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)
Admins, take care: I'm going to be breaking the three revert rule to keep the Sandbox accessible. I can't possibly be doing more harm than this cretin. JRM 20:53, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)
OK, that's it. Maybe the vandal can keep this up all night, but I can't. Here's the community Sandbox, goodbye, best of luck with it. I was being stupid anyway. Ten to one he (it has to be a he, no woman could be that stupid) will go away now that he's not getting any more attention. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. For the record: I'm going to be very disappointed if this loser isn't banned. JRM 21:04, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)

Denial of Service. Your repeated multi-megabyte posting is making it hard to impossible for other people to experiment in the Sandbox. Please keep articles limited to at most 32 KB in size. JRM 21:07, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)

In that case, Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope your future edits will be more productive. JRM 21:11, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)
As a general note to everyone: I think I've learned a lesson in staying cool. I also promise not to ever call anyone names again, vandal or no. Please give me a swift kick in the behind if I ever break my word. (As far as I can tell, there's no policy against kicking ass...) JRM 23:36, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)

Benmore Peak Observatory

210.54.x.x probably connected to Scott Gall

  • All of these users appear to be connected to the author(s) of the Scott Gall article. To understand where he is coming from, the Scott Gall article says
Scott Gall (October 8, 1988 - present day) is a sport inventor from Dunedin, New Zealand and has many weird codes under his belt. Most of the names are portmanteau words, most of them providing for his country's national sport... One code, which came into his mind when he saw two students who use his bus stop kicking a rugby ball across the road, is called rugbennis, a mixture of rugby and tennis, which he believes to be "sin net" backwards (because it might have been a sin to serve the ball so it touches the net.)
I have the impression that he is fascinated by these "codes" and is attempting to decode them and write articles describing the sports which he believes they ought to represent.
Not sure what if anything ought to be done, other than listing the articles on VfD when appropriate. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 19:21, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)

163.1.141.7

  • (163.1.141.7 | talk | contributions) - has been active on Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Ruzwana_Bashir, they blanked this twice. The first time they blanked it [1] and started the VfD again, this could be seen as a good faith mistake. They then blanked it again [2], even though they knew not to do this. They also blanked the talk page of Ruzwana Bashir [3]. They also cleared their talk page, though this is not such a bad thing it seems they are trying to clear their tracks [4]. User has also engaged in personal attacks and legal threats [5] (they wrote "The second earliest edit of the entry includes offensive and slanderous content. Although it was reverted, it remains in the history, and is libellous. 163.1.141.7 06:07, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)"). I would say all these things are vandalism of Wikipedia. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:33, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • When I restarted VfD I thought it would be more appropriate to start afresh rather than having the lengthy previous history clogging up the main VfD page, and EXPLICITLY said to look in the history for the previous VfD discussion. I cleared the VfD page because the warning "WARNING: This page is 39 kilobytes long. Please consider condensing the page and moving the detail to another article so it is not approaching or in excess of 32KB." came up, something that has not been taken into consideration by anyone. In clearing my own Talk page I said that I had taken all the comments into consideration and wished to clear it. My "personal attack" was at someone I attempted to help by providing a link to a topic they were unsure of and received a thankless reply. This does not amount to vandalism, and I won't be posting on this site again anyway. 163.1.141.7 00:36, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Further: I suspect this user is coming from two IP addresses, that one listed and also 129.67.16.77, see Special:Contributions/129.67.16.77. They blanked the talk page of User:163.1.141.7 and also the VfD page. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:37, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • (212.219.232.91 | talk | contributions) created two nonsense articles, removed nonsense tag with silly explanation, then vandalized its vfd subpage, while User:Spewman removed the VFD tag on the article. @#$% kids.
    • Seems to have gone away for now. Thue | talk 20:54, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

seems to be having a spiteful juvenile little spree, directed at User:Arwel Parry and User:Tomwalden

  • Why him and not me, seeing that I already blocked that IP and a few around it for a week on october 18. Blocked for 3 weeks... Thue | talk 21:02, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • All edits reverted. Has registered as User:Benjamincohen, who has also had his edits reverted, and been told not to spam on his talk page. Thue | talk 20:49, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Deleted the whole article of countries involved in the WWII. I suggest his IP to be blocked. --Pinnecco 10:43, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Seems to have gone away, no need for blocking a probably dynamic IP. Thue | talk 20:44, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

202.90.128.27

  • Three edits today and a couple of much older ones, seemingly all randomly adding/changing words.07:18, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Warned on talk page. Thue | talk 21:06, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

205.188.117.6

  • Just noticed scrawl on Vector_space, user has some history of vandalising other pages. Probably nothing too serious, but just in case. Seems to be tagging edits using not implausible names? Jogloran 04:10, Nov 3, 2004 (UTC)
  • Warning added to talk page. Thue | talk 20:46, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

216.94.251.19

  • Nothing serious yet, but keeps reverting Aaron core to remove speedy deletion tag. JRM 00:23, 2004 Nov 3 (UTC)
  • Actually, it's getting annoying. He/she's recreated the article after being deleted, and again reverting speedy tags. JRM 00:40, 2004 Nov 3 (UTC)

Ferkeplarade

  • This username has very obviously been registered in an attempt to impersonate me and vandalize Template:vprotected. In a strange way, I feel flattered (didn't know I was so well-known around here :P), but I don't think this behavior should be encouraged in any way. -- Ferkelparade π 23:35, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Blocked. Thue | talk 00:10, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

202.5.161.90

  • All contributions so far are vandalisms. Reverted patent nonsense Malaka seconds after I tagged it for speedy deletion, but that might be a simple parallel edit. No warnings yet. JRM 23:19, 2004 Nov 2 (UTC)
  • The latests edits look ok, though I am not an expert on Orgy (band). Warned on talk page. Thue | talk 21:11, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Because of cache problems, I cannot tell who is putting the POV slogan on the image, but it needs to be frozen on the clean version. Too many people are trying to re-re-revert it causing problems. --Henrygb 23:09, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • vandalizing Template:Current. Blocked for a week, but I am more willing to bet it will come back than putting money on any of the candidates. – Kaihsu 21:35, 2004 Nov 2 (UTC)

203.23.253.10

  • 203.23.253.10 began vandalizing Genghis Khan again today and started vandalizing 2004 Osama bin Laden video. This guy went on a vandalizing spree on Genghis Khan on October 26, and made some more edits on Oct 28 (see below). Has been repeatedly warned — perhaps this IP should be blocked indefinitely. Mateo SA | talk Mateo SA 06:39, Nov 2, 2004 (UTC)
  • indefinite block sounds good to me; he has made lots of vandalism over a long time, and the IP seems to be static. No need for us to tolerate him. Blocked. Thue | talk 08:55, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Also keep an eye on User:Hobo bogon shangri lah, who seem to be connected those IPs but haven't really done anything yet. Thue | talk 08:49, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • I just got a threat at User talk:203.23.253.159: §hangri-lah and his geek hacker friends will dis ur site and will not care because their isp is shit and wont care. They will call in favours and ur site will b stuffed, even all the admin files will b deleted 2 keep the ip unbloked. Posted by special:contributions/210.49.83.9. Thue | talk 11:57, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • (210.49.83.9 | talk | contributions) also vandalized this entry, putting up a false notice that 203.23.253.10 had been unblocked (but 210.49.83.9 has now been blocked as well, however). — Mateo SA | talk 03:13, Nov 8, 2004 (UTC)

Ciz

  • Ciz is repeatedly vandalising Talk:Zoophilia. Initially vandalised article page on which NPOV consensus had been broadly reached, article was reverted 6 times, then locked, switched to ranting, name calling and smearing despite requests by 2 sysops to refrain, an RFC was requested to attempt to respect his POVs. Has now resumed vandalism in Talk page instead. Main grudge seems to be that this is a page on social, psychological, legal aspects etc, he wishes it to be an animal abuse page and anyone not agreeing is an animal abuser. Direct link to Nov 2 2004 renewed vandalism: [[7]] showing deletion of other people's prior contributions.
