I would really like to have this permission for my recent project. I had been doing cleanup, adding category and tagging Malaysia school articles. I also made a navigate box for Malaysia school, example like {{Schools in Kedah, Malaysia}} (and another 11) and I would like to add the template to every related school articles but there were too much to do manually. Malaysia school articles also usually contains typo and some of them have bad formatting that it required cleanup. So I would like to have a fast and efficient tools for these processes (and also other articles). I hereby pledge not to misuse AWB and take every action carefully. Thank you. I would like to use this tool to highly fix typos and cleanup wherever possible. I currently use Lupin's spell check to correct as much as possible. Thank You VarunFEB2003 I am Offline 07:53, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I'd recommend that, in considering this request, note is taken of the issues detailed on the user talk page, and the multiple requests to "slow down". Perhaps automated editing is not such a good idea with that in mind? --Begoontalk 10:59, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
True I'll not misuse these rights in any way. If any admin finds me misusing them he can take back the rights. VarunFEB2003 I am Offline 13:14, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Varun, as multiple people have tried to point out to you on your talkpage, it's not a case of If any admin finds me misusing them he can take back the rights. You are well and truly in the last-chance saloon; if any admin finds you misusing anything again it will mean an indefinite block. Do you really want access to a tool which even highly experienced users find difficult to control, and which if used incorrectly means annoying a lot of people at once, very, very quickly? Note to reviewing admin: I won't decline this request myself as I'm one of those who's previously warned Varun for WP:CIR issues, but I echo Begoon in urging whoever reviews this to read just how warnings Varun has received recently, and how blithely he's ignored them all. ‑ Iridescent 21:33, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Request Withdrawn - Ok then I agree to gain more competence first then request. Thanks VarunFEB2003 I am Offline 11:15, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Speed up repetitive edits made for articles in WP:AFL. Flickerd (talk) 08:31, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Flickerd: Could you provide a couple diffs with examples of the type of repetitive edits you'd like to make? ~ Rob13Talk 06:45, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@BU Rob13: It's mainly to do with updating a template at the bottom of each players article, here are some of the differences [2], [3], [4], [5], I think I've done over 1000 manually, but I saw another editor using AWB to do the same thing, and it was much faster (as evident in their user contributions [6]) and there are still around 4800 that need to be updated. I have also moved templates and articles to appropriate names and the process of moving all transclusions is rather tedious too and I have held off a bit on moving more due to the lengthy process (I know it's not always necessary to move all transclusions, but it is at times necessary due to incorrect spelling or not having an official name), here's some diffs [7], [8], [9], [10], [11]. I don't know how many of these type of edits I've done, but it would be in the 1000's. Flickerd (talk) 07:21, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not done It's not only unnecessary to make such cosmetic changes from a template redirect to the actual template name, but it's also against AWB rules of use, which forbid cosmetic edits, and our bot policy at WP:COSMETICBOT if done at a rapid pace without reviewing individual diffs. ~ Rob13Talk 07:27, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
