Eugen Bopp was born September 5, 1983 in Kyiv, Ukraine but has German nationality. He is a skillful footballer who can play in the centre, left or right of midfield. He is currently playing for Rotherham United as he was released from Nottingham Forest in May 2006.

Eugen Bopp moved to Germany when he was very young and joined Bayern Munich as a youth. Bopp, knowing that he would find it hard to get in to the Bayern first team, happily switched life in Munich to join Nottingham Forest. Despite not playing a great deal of games in his Forest career he was a fan favourite who had many different chants that were sang by the Forest fans.

When he joined Forest, the former German Under-21 international was widely regarded as one of the most skillful players of his age. He played over 60 games for Forest, but only half (38) of those were in the starting line-up in his 4 years at Forest. He was often used as a substitute and sometimes scored spectacular goals. He scored 11 goals for Forest in total.

On Tuesday May 9th 2006, the fan favourite was released from Nottingham Forest, much to the surprise of the Forest faithful. He was dubbed to be the next big thing at Forest when he arrived but, unfortunately, he failed to fulfill the expectations.

He was on trial with Rotherham United for the majority of the South Yorkshire club's Pre-Season and has scored an impressive goal against Premiership oppositionm, Sheffield United. Due to his impressive trial spell, he signed a short term contract on the 3rd August 2006 and was given the number 25 shirt. As a result of his continued excellent performances on the pitch (and one spectacular goal against Scunthorpe), Bopp was offered a contract extension until the end of the season, delighting the Rotherham faithful.
